The Sins of Jesus

by Ping-Ko Chiu

— The Sins of Jesus by Richard A. Muller

“Did Jesus teach by using deceit? Maybe. But if the teaching of Jesus survive his death, it will not be because of his deceptions, but despite of them.”

A fictional autobiography of Jesus that attempts to give naturalistic explanations to Jesus’ life. The novel covers many of the notable stories and miracles about Jesus. Jesus found that in order the spread his revelation, he had to use deceit. People wouldn’t listen to him without being convinced by miracles, thus he let some untruths persist and performed magic tricks disguised as divine acts. He had all the right intentions but used some deceitful methods to get there. An interesting read. It might be more enjoyable if I knew many of the biblical stories in advance.
